In 2016 RightShip introduced the next generation vetting tool, RightShip Qi. Pronounced ‘key’ – and an acronym for Quality Index – this predictive online platform is all about improving maritime safety and efficiency. Until September 2020, RightShip and our vetting customers will continue to use QI. To find out more about the new RightShip platform, please visit ComingSoon.RightShip.com
RightShip Qi harnesses big data, predictive analytics and real-time risk assessments to better target substandard maritime performance. Vast quantities of ever-changing data are analysed by sophisticated algorithms to spot patterns and draw conclusions from data sets too large, diverse and dynamic for analysis with previous technology.
Qi has the ability to instantaneously analyse, compare and integrate data such as port state control inspections, casualty history, satellite data and terminal feedback to identify anomalies and trends.
Regularly reviewed and updated, Qi is a robust, reliable and responsive platform that has been designed to further reduce maritime risk and improve efficiency.
We will continue to provide trials for Qi until September 2020, however we recommend registering your interest for our new RightShip platform at ComingSoon.RightShip.com
The animated video below shows how RightShip Qi uses predictive analytics to determine the likelihood that a vessel will have an incident in the next 12 months.
When a vessel is vetted in RightShip Qi, it undergoes a thorough risk assessment to determine its relative safety for a particular voyage.
Qi provides the organisation requesting the vet with an indication of the risk involved in selecting that particular vessel for charter. The suitability of a vessel is based on both RightShip and customer-specific rules.
Whilst some vet requests submitted in Qi will be automatically approved by the system, others will require a more thorough investigation by an experienced RightShip Vetting Superintendent.Read More
After RightShip has assessed the suitability of the vessel against the criteria in Qi, customers will be notified of the outcome of the vet, indicating whether the vessel has been deemed ‘Acceptable’ or ‘Unacceptable’ for the particular voyage.
See the demo below on submitting a vet quest in RightShip Qi.
Terminal Questionnaires help to improve safety and ensure transparency.
Some terminals use a Terminal Questionnaire (TQ) as part of their ship scheduling and nomination process. The TQ is administered by the terminal and facilitated by RightShip.Read More
Every ship scheduled to enter their port is required to submit an online terminal questionnaire containing specific vessel information around mooring configuration, loading and deballasting rates and helicopter suitability prior to berthing.
As part of the ship scheduling and nomination process the ship’s master or their nominated agent will receive an email from RightShip on behalf of the terminal. The email will share a link to an online Terminal Questionnaire (TQ) containing pre-populated data from RightShip Qi. The recipient of the email is required to complete and submit the TQ in Qi.
Vessels must have an acceptable, validated electronic TQ or they may be refused entry to the terminal. If information submitted in a TQ is found to be incorrect, the vessel may be deemed not suitable to load or to return to the terminal and the vessel may be denied future nomination acceptance.
Terminal feedback can include a dry berth or tanker terminal feedback report, which are submitted in RightShip Qi after a vessel has called at the port.
The information in these reports provides RightShip with an operational history of the vessel, which is taken into account when assessing the suitability of the vessel in future vets.Read More
RightShip will pursue any issues or negative feedback with the vessel operators until a satisfactory close-out has been received.
The demo video below shows the process for submitting feedback forms.
Qi allows RightShip customers to create lists of both companies and vessels, and to set alerts against fleet lists. This gives customers immediate notification of any activity or changes that may affect the outcome of a vetting assessment in Qi.Read More
Please note that fleet list alerts are currently under development in Qi, and customers will be notified when this functionality is available.
Learn more about the lists & alerts functionality in Qi in the demo video below.
RightShip customers are able to view details and reports in Qi that are related to a particular company, association, class or flag.
This includes information on vessels that are owned or managed by a particular company; their PSC performance by individual vessel or for the entire organisation, as well as the risk and environmental ratings of their fleet.Read More
The demo video below outlines how you can view information in Qi regarding owners or managing companies.
