Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of meeting and working with many talented individuals, who’ve shared detailed insights and real-world expertise with me. I have been struck by the passion and dedication of the people who make up our dynamic industry. If our people are not safe and supported, we can’t reach our full potential.

Since opening RightShip’s London office in 2007, David has expanded RightShip’s European business to also incorporate the Middle East & African regions. His clients now including some of the world’s largest owners, managers, terminals, insurers, financial institutions and industry bodies. To service a customer-base that has grown almost 10-fold under his tenure, David now oversees a team of 13 Vetting Superintendents operating from the London office. 

David is regularly invited to participate the Lord Mayor of London’s Trade Delegations and was a member of the Advisory Panel for the UK Shipping Registry, contributing to the 2015 Report “Review of the UK Ship Register and Recommendations f or Future Improvements”. 

A Director of the Sustainable Shipping Initiative and an accomplished presenter, David is often called upon to speak and chair international conferences on best-practise safety and sustainability issues in the maritime industry. 

Before joining RightShip, David was Deputy General Manager at Golar LNG. David has a strong background in maritime safety and quality with significant experience in Safety Management System recertification, tanker vetting, training and auditing, and conducting risk assessments of vessels and port authorities.  

David has consulted on ISO 9000, International Safety Management, safety and quality and related auditing services to a range of companies including P&I Clubs, industry associations and various ship owners. He began his career with the P&O General Cargo Division and has served as a First Mate and Master on offshore supply vessels and salvage tugs.
