We deliver quality services that customers can depend on to make the right decision. This helps them to provide reliable safety, environmental and seafarer welfare outcomes.
Darren Ryan brings more than 30 years of experience in the resources and energy sectors to his role as Chief Operating Officer at RightShip. After growing up in regional New South Wales, and commencing his career as an engineer, he has since accepted a diverse range of operations, commercial, process and system improvement opportunities.
These roles have provided an international perspective, with Darren often overseeing safety and environmental audits in locations including Singapore, Africa, North America, Australia and Canada. The assignments required an understanding of safety, health and hygiene standards across offshore, underground and project sites. It was the chance to positively impact people’s safety, environment and wellbeing that he found meaningful. The experience continues to underpin his principles and commitment to safety and sustainability outcomes for all maritime workers.
In his role at RightShip, Darren wears several leadership hats, overseeing operations, vetting, sustainability and product. He has played a key role in delivering the new digital platform, seeking to enhance services and standardisation.
Today he is based in Melbourne. However, Darren has drawn from his time in Singapore to set up RightShip’s new innovation hub – which opened in Singapore in 2020 – believing that an active presence in one of the busiest maritime clusters in the world is critical.
Darren’s overarching goal in the position of COO at RightShip is to ensure all vessel risk is minimised, procedures are right, and deficiencies that could lead to poor health and safety outcomes are eradicated.
